Relationship between the rated power of portable power station and the power of electrical appliances used

1. Matching electrical appliance power

For example, electric kettles usually have a power of 1500-2000W. If the rated power of the portable power station is only 1000W, it cannot be powered. But for an LED desk lamp with a rated power of 50W, a power supply with a rated power of 1000W can easily drive it. It reflects the maximum power that the power supply can stably output, which can help users determine whether the power supply can drive a specific appliance. For example, if you want to use a 600W rice cooker, you need to choose a portable energy storage power supply with a rated power of 600W or more.

 

2. Measuring the load capacity of the power supply

Suppose a small outdoor concert is held, and multiple devices need to be powered, such as 300W speakers and 200W lighting equipment. If a portable energy storage power supply with a rated power of 1000W is used, these devices can basically be powered at the same time under reasonable planning. But if it is replaced with a power supply with a rated power of 500W, it cannot meet the simultaneous operation of all devices due to insufficient load capacity. Generally speaking, the larger the rated power, the stronger the load capacity of the power supply, which means that more electrical appliances can be driven at the same time, or high-power electrical appliances can be powered. For example, in outdoor live broadcast scenes, if you want to power cameras, lights, computers and other equipment at the same time, you need a storage power supply with a larger rated power.

Starting power problem

Take the air conditioner as an example. A 1.5-horsepower air conditioner has a normal operating power of about 1100W. If the rated power of the portable storage power supply is 1500W, it seems to meet the requirements. But in fact, the power of the air conditioner compressor may be as high as 3300-5500W at the moment of starting. If the peak power of the power supply cannot reach this value, the air conditioner will not start normally.
